Training
The Cells into Organs network brings together some of the most outstanding Developmental Biology groups in Europe. One of the primary objectives of the network is to disseminate this shared expertise and to train a new generation of leading developmental biologists.
To reach this objective, a comprehensive, multidisciplinary program of courses and rotation projects is provided to network affiliated graduate students. The programme is available through the Cells into Organs website and access to courses and rotation projects is coordinated by the workpackage leaders.
Currently there are six joint PhD projects running and four more will be selected for support

- International Symposium on "Tissue Specification and Organogenesis" at the Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon, Portugal,February 4-6 2009
Previous events:
- On March 20-22, 2007 was the PhD Course "From Development to Disease" held, organized by the Erasmus Medical Centre.
- June 4-8th 2007: A workshop about Designing the Bodyplan: Developmental Mechanisms has been organized in collaboration with the Lorentz Center, University of Leiden.
- 16 - 28 July 2007: The University of Sheffield organised an EMBO practical course on Animal Models for Development, Physiology and Disease
- August 31st - September 2nd: The first Cells into Organs symposium was held on "Mechanisms of Early Development: Cell fate determination, morphogenesis and patterning" in Lisbon, Portugal.
- October 2007: An International Symposium “Stem cells, Development and Regulation” organized by the “Stems Cells in Development and Disease” BSIK Consortium was held.
